'The Bento Buster demonstrates how to make a homemade McDonald’s style Steak, Egg & Cheese Bagel with ingredients that you might have in your kitchen. This is a freshly toasted bagel that holds a tender, juicy steak patty (my one is fried in wagyu fat), a fluffy folded egg, melty American cheese and savory grilled onions (fried in ghee/real butter). INGREDIENTS 1 handful of finely sliced to form a patty butter/oil for the frypan Wagyu fat/lard - optional (easy to find in Japan) Garlic powder Salt to taste Black pepper to taste 1/2 sliced small onion 1 egg 1 plain bagel 2 slices American cheese Breakfast Sauce: 2 tablespoons mayonnaise 1 tsp grated onion 1 tsp finely chopped dill 1 tsp finely chopped pickle 1-2 tsp mustard Instructions: Prepare the sauce by combining the mayonnaise with the dill, pickle and mustard in a small bowl. Set a side. Dice the steak into coarse pieces. Season with salt, pepper & garlic powder accordingly. form it into a patty. Slice the onion Heat 1 teaspoon of ghee/vegetable oil in a skillet over medium heat. Sauté the onion until light brown. Heat a skillet over medium-high heat. Melt the wagyu fat/lard/oil etc in the pan. Place the steak patty in a metal ring & cook until brown, remove ring and flip to cook the other side. Season with salt & pepper accordingly. To make the folded egg , beat an egg in a bowl. Fry the egg in an oiled fry pan. I have a rectangle pan so this is easy to form the desired shape. If you don’t then just fry it in a circle shape. No need to flip the egg. Fold the egg once cooked Toast the bagels, I toasted mine face down in the fry pan soaking up some of the wagyu fat and ghee, or you can just toast and butter them. Assemble the Bagel in this order: bagel bottom half, cheese, steak, folded egg, cheese, breakfast sauce, top bagel half. Place a slice of cheese onto the base bagel half. Place the steak on top. Then the onions. Then add the folded egg. Place a slice of cheese on top of the egg. Next add a dollop of the breakfast sauce. Finely top it off with the top half of the bagel. Eat!'
