'During these unprecedented times, the Health Center understands students’ uncertainty and is here to help them through it, says Dr. Deidre Dorman, medical director of the Ball State Student Health Center. The Health Center is still open and can provide care in person or, when appropriate, serve patients by phone or by virtual visits. Anyone who needs services can call the Health Center at 765-285-8431. Students can often schedule appointments for the same day. Because health and safety are its top priority, the Health Center is taking several measures to protect everyone. This starts with a requirement to see patients by appointment only rather than accepting walk-ins. And to best meet needs, a nurse practitioner or physician may conduct a phone screening. When arriving for appointments, nursing staff greet students at the entry main lobby and will conduct a repeat screening. Visitors will also be asked to wear a mask and use hand sanitizer. Anyone seeking treatment for COVID-19 symptoms will receive treatment on the first floor. Students who schedule appointments for other reasons will receive care on the second floor. During the Summer, the Health Center is open 7:30 a.m-3:30 p.m., Monday-Friday. For more information about the Health Center, please visit: https://www.bsu.edu/campuslife/healthcenter'
