So, here’s the thing. When it comes to the CFDA Fashion Awards, the Council of Fashion Designers of America usually announces the winners of the night beforehand, but this time they did things a little differently because the winner of the Fashion Icon Award wasn’t revealed until Diane Von Furstenberg said Beyonce’s name. During the singer’s moving acceptance speech, Bey revealed that her love of fashion started all because of her mother and grandmother. Beyonce then launched into a story about how high-end fashion designers didn’t want to dress Destiny’s Child when they first started and revealed that her mother and uncle were the masterminds behind DC’s beginning looks. When story time was over, Bey revealed to the crowd what fashion means to her. Then, Yonce started to thank her grandma, mother, and uncle, well, see if you can keep the tears from falling down your face.And last but not least, Beyonce took a moment to thank the fashion designers who work tirelessly to help people feel beautiful with their gorgeous designs and work. QUOTE, “We have the opportunity to contribute to a society where any girl can look at a billboard or magazine cover and see her own reflection. Soul has no color, no shape, no form. Just like all of your work, it goes far beyond what the eye can see. You have the power to change perception, to inspire and empower, and to show people how to embrace their complications, and see the flaws, and the true beauty and strength that’s inside all of us.” While Beyonce’s snazzy suit and moving speech made it a night to remember for everyone in attendance, it was actually little Blue Ivy that stole the show and she did it before the ceremony even began. The youngster was seen heading into the ballroom in NYC with Jay Z and even though a ton of scary flashes went off as she walked by and fans were calling for the adorable 4 year old, Blue Ivy gave the crowd what they wanted by giving them a few energetic waves.
