MIAMI VALLEY -- The auto club AAA says more than 1.7 million Ohioans are planned to travel during the five-day Independence Day holiday weekend. Members have been calling the auto club asking about traffic delays along their intended route. AAA says two of the top five destinations for Ohioans is Myrtle Beach and Hilton Head, South Carolina and major delays have been reported on I-40, between Knoxville, Tennessee, and Asheville, North Carolina. That highway is a popular route to get to the East Coast and AAA wants to help you navigate through or around the problem area. Travelers are encouraged to view construction areas and plan for alternate routes using the AAA TripTik Travel Planner. (AAA membership is not required.) AAA members can call or visit their local AAA office to consult with an Auto Travel expert to prepare a routing and avoid delaying their arrival at their beach vacation destination.See also:
