'Baptist Memorial Health Care celebrated the opening of its new regional business office today with a ribbon cutting ceremony. The new regional business office will centralize physician billing, scheduling and similar services for nine of Baptist Memorial’s 10 Mississippi hospitals. It occupies 41,000 square feet of space on three floors in the building, which is owned by a subsidiary of Hertz Investment Group. The office will employ 250 people. “This new office allows us to combine our resources, which strengthens operational and service excellence, drives efficiencies and enhances the patient experience, which is our top priority,” said Chris Anderson, vice president of Mississippi operations for Baptist Memorial Health Care. “Our hospitals care for some of the sickest and most under-served communities in the country, and we must do everything we can to ensure we remain part of these communities for years to come.\" On May 1, 2017, Mississippi Baptist Health Systems signed a shared mission agreement with Baptist Memorial, which is headquartered in Memphis, Tennessee. Baptist Memorial has 21 affiliate hospitals in Arkansas, Tennessee and Mississippi. As a result of the shared mission agreement, Baptist Memorial became Mississippi’s fourth largest employer and the largest health care system in the state.
