RV Measurements (5th Wheels vs Travel Trailers - How they are measured)  In RV Measurements, Two Tired Teachers give a brief description of the differences in how a 5th wheel and a travel trailer are measured.    RV Measurements is especially useful for those new to RVing.  RV newbies may not realize that 5th wheels & travel trailers are not measure the same way.  This video will show you both how to measure a a travel trailer and how to measure a 5th wheel RV.  Travel trailers are measured from the ball mount to the back bumper while 5th wheels are measured from the king pin to the back bumper.  This can be 3 or more feet difference in the amount of living space for a 5th wheel when compared to  a travel trailer of the 'same length.'  Travel trailer length is not the same as 5th wheel length.  Looking at the directions in the video, you see that measuring a 5th wheel is very different from measuring a travel trailer.
