Do I have hair cutting experience? I shave my dog every once in a while. And I chopped all of my hair off. Does my child still have hair? Yes, indeedy. I\'ll show you my step-by-step process, the products I used, and tell you why and how I trimmed my daughter\'s mixed curly hair at home. Caution: as stated severalllll times in the video: I am NOT a professional. I received a Bachelors in English, not hair. So, again, I\'m not professionally trained. However, I had enough confidence to do this myself. Growing up with curly hair almost identical to my daughter\'s (minus the color), I felt comfortable enough to trim her curly mixed hair at home. If YOU do NOT feel confident in doing the same, DO NOT DO THIS. Go to a trusted hair care professional with experience in children and curly hair. Be very specific in what you are asking for, and monitor the stylist. Speaking from experience, the only time my mom took me to a salon for a trim (1 inch), she cut off 2-3 inches and put in layers which made my hair obviously shorter.
