'Rate a Fitness YouTuber: Greg Doucette (Old Video)'

'Greg Doucette is a Canadian YouTuber with 313,000 subs, which has been exploding in popularity lately. Let\'s break down his channel. EDIT: Greg has commented and I have pinned his comment and my response to the top, not because I agree with it, but because he deserves to be heard. EDIT 7/30/2020 Many of the things in this video I\'ve changed my mind about. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Erfkq-zj9Jg Content 1:05 40/60 This would be pretty high, except roughly 2/3s of Greg Doucette\'s videos are \"natty or not\" videos, or otherwise trolling other YouTubers. This is great for view numbers and subscription counts, but I count this as a negative when it comes to content. Yes, I realize that it\'s ironic that I am saying this while making a video about another YouTuber. Oh well! Greg Doucette does have some decent advice when it comes to building muscle and losing fat, BUT in many cases he absolutely overemphasizes the \"train harder\" aspect of things-something that is often the solution, but certainly not always. Some people do train too hard. Videos 5:45 7/10 This has gotten a bit better lately, he outsources them so they\'ve improved. Still pretty basic, but he does have the occasional animated graphic or something. Knowledge 6:15 9/10 Greg Doucette has been at this a long time. He\'s been natural, unnatural and everything in between. He\'s set world records in powerlifting and is an IFBB pro bodybuilder. He has a masters in kinesiology, but typically doesn\'t really seem to base his training or coaching in science much. Which isn\'t always a terrible thing, just something to keep in mind. Marketing 9:45 2/10 Oof. Most of his videos are clickbait, which is fair enough, but a lot of his content is just designed to create drama. This is to get more views and thus convert more clients. How do I know this? Because he says it repeatedly. Doucette\'s coaching is 150 [American] dollars for a quarter of an hour phone call 250 [American] dollars for 30 minutes, and up to 3000 [American] dollars per month, going down to 1500 [American] dollars after the first month. That\'s basically 10x what I charge, for the record. I guess the free market means he can charge whatever he wants. EDIT: Greg himself has commented and asked me to be clear that these are American dollars. So, I have added the nationality of the dollars in brackets. He also has a cookbook ebook at 99 bucks. Physique 14:42 9/10 Greg looks great. No real weak points. Total for Greg Doucette? 67/100 He could easily be 85+ with less attention-seeking marketing.
