'Chutney prepared with ants? Though it is not a common dish, we can surely try a meal with ant chutney in many parts of India. This video is shot in a tribal village in Kasargod district of Kerala. There we enjoyed ant chutney with purple yam and chicken curry with rice. Srilesh told me that they use the ant nests only from good trees. They climb the trees and collect the nests, and get bitten in the process. Even after that, they endure the pain of ant bites during the process of making chutney. But I have to say that the chutney made with red ants, ant nests, bird\'s eye chilies and salt was awesome. Though I have tasted tribal food in many parts of India, this was my first experience with ant chutney. I loved it. The chicken curry that they cooked o have with rice was also delicious. It was a treat at a tribal village in Kasaragod or me and my friend Jafar.
