Hoover Dam Tour in Boulder City, Nevada USA is top thing to do for adults and kids. Dam and Bridge are Top travel attractions near Las vegas and grand canyon. Hoover dam is popular as it is the largest reservoir dam in america and second tallest dam measuring 726 feet height. We need to pay a $10 parking fee per vehicle and it is not free. It is worth visiting the historic Hoover dam as it was being constructed for 5 years during the great depression and opened in 1936. Dam serves the purpose for drinking water, flood control, and power generation. One of the tips to visit Hoover dam megastructure and the bridge on the Colorado river is to be there at sunset time to catch golden hour views.  The Colorado river carved a beautiful canyon and this famous USA travel destination is only 45 minutes from Las Vegas and around 2 hours from the Grand Canyon. Water level was low and mineral deposits in the Lake mead painted white color ring on canyon walls.   Some other activities that you can do are taking power plant tours and Dam tours. You can also visit Lake Mead National Recreation Area which is managed by National park services. It took around an hour for us to go on a walking tour.
